02B - Precedent Study
SDSBVI
South Dakota School for the Blind & Visually Impaired was formed in 1900, originally in Gary, South Dakota, in a former Courthouse. Then in 1961, the foundation relocated to Aberdeen, South Dakota, with the newly constructed single-story building. Finally, in 2020, with the partnership with Northern State University, SDSBVI was settled in this present building, designed by TSP architects, with the consultation from Chris Downey, an architect who also suffers vision loss.
